JEDI's Aboriginal Business Accelerator Program helps prepare Aboriginal SMEs to compete in the aerospace and defense industries.
On behalf of the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI), LearnSphere designed and delivers a targeted learning and mentorship program for Aboriginal entrepreneurs in New Brunswick. The program aims to help entrepreneurs become better equipped to take part in the supply chain for shipbuilding and related defense sector opportunities. Eight New Brunswick Aboriginal entrepreneurs participated in the first-phase of this 10-week learning and development program. Another cohort of entrepreneurs is currently taking advantage.
What can entrepreneurs expect to learn?
The program covers topics including business development, sales and marketing, responding to RFPs, and certification and regulatory requirements, among many others. Throughout the sessions, guest speakers from recognized businesses are invited in to speak about topics germane to the subject matter of that particular session. By the end of the program, participants are better equipped to become part of supply chain opportunities.
The program is divided into 10 modules that are offered once a week for 10 consecutive weeks.
